About the Band
The 250+ members of the UCLA Marching Band come from across the U.S. and around the world. While the band is housed within the Herb Alpert School of Music, a majority of members are not majoring in music!
The Heartbeat of Bruin Nation
The UCLA Marching Band performs at all home football, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball games. From the historic Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena to legendary Pauley Pavilion on the UCLA campus, band members perform for national audiences every week. Additionally, the Solid Gold Sound travels to select away games, post-season Big 10 and NCAA tournaments, and represents the University at numerous local, state, and national appearances.
Additional Performances
The band also plays at other UCLA athletic events, from Gymnastics to Water Polo, throughout the academic year. We are often invited to perform for corporate, media, non-profit, and personal events large and small, representing UCLA and providing exciting opportunities for band members to engage with the broader Los Angeles community.
